Required documents<\/h3>\n

Waseda University School of International Liberal Studies requires prospective students to submit several documents. One of the required documents is a written essay<\/strong> of about 600 words<\/strong>. Depending on the year, the content may differ. For example, the requirement for 2019 was \u201cIdentify a significant international event which took place in the last year and explain why you think it was important.\u201d<\/p>\n

Furthermore, students who receive a conditional offer are required to take an interview test.\u00a0In general, they will be asked about their applications, their motivation for applying and their future goals.<\/p>\n

Additionally, if the student\u2019s previous education system was one in which the first language is NOT English, then they are required to submit a certificate<\/strong> to prove their English proficiency. Acceptable types of certification are TOEFL iBT, TOEIC L&R, IELTS (Academic), GEPT (General English Proficiency Test) and EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency).<\/p>\n

Additional information for domestic students<\/h3>\n

For domestic students, there is a written examination called \u201cCritical Writing<\/strong>\u201d, which typically involves reading over 500 words about various topics and answering multiple-choice and written answer questions in English.<\/p>\n
