A personal statement refers to any topics that refers to oneself. Possible topics but not limited to are: Self-introduction, study goal, career goal, reason for applying for the chosen program, plan for contribution to the university, challenges in the past<\/p>\n

A given topic refers to any topics that the school defines that students have to write about. Typically it involves topics related to the program the applicant has chosen.
