Required documents

Waseda University “School of Social Sciences” (TAISI) requires prospective students to submit several documents. One of the required documents is a written essay of about 1000 words. The topic is about a social issue and what their motivation for applying for TAISI is.

Furthermore, students who receive a conditional offer are required to take an interview test. In general, they will be asked about their applications, their motivation for applying and their future goals.

Additionally, if the student’s previous education system was one in which the first language is NOT English, then they are required to submit a certificate to prove their English proficiency. Acceptable types of certification are TOEFL iBT, TOEIC L&R, IELTS (Academic), GEPT (General English Proficiency Test) and EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency).
